Sean McBride
Sean McBride, "The Movie Guy" began his film career at The Leucadia Film
Company, where he worked in the editing department on such films as "The
Paper Brigade," "The All-American Kid" and "Just Like Dad." While
simultaneously pursuing a degree in Film Studies at the University of Utah,
"The Movie Guy" was one of the first journalists to write about The North
American Film and Video Festival--Robert Redford's little startup that would
eventually evolve into The Sundance Film Festival.
Sean left the film industry for a career in television production, but was
immediately asked to appear weekly as the film critic at KBMT-TV in
Beaumont, TX. Twelve years and three jobs later, Sean is now the director of
Marketing and Promotions at KAVU-TV in Victoria, TX, but he remains "Sean
the Movie Guy" on TV, radio, print and online.
Sean's reviews can be read at rottontomatoes.com or myvictoriaonline.com. He
is seen weekly on KAVU-TV, KVIC radio and in print bi-weekly in "The Port
Arthur News." He welcomes comments at smcbride@kavutv.com.
