Eric Harrison
Eric Harrison has written reviews, commentaries, news and feature stories about film since 1998, first for the Los Angeles Times, followed in 2000 by a stint with the Houston Chronicle in his hometown. More recently Eric has focused on the web where he writes about film for MovieHouston.com and InsideMovies.net. He is developing an animated movie commentary feature for self syndication. As a student, Eric studied film with Oscar-winning screenwriter John Briley, director Edward Dmytryk and film historian Thomas Schatz. He has been interviewed on film-related topics for CNN and ABC network news and on television shows in Paris and Tokyo. Among honors he has received is a National Society of Professional Journalists award for magazine writing and a Texas Headliner Award for feature writing. As a cartoonist, Eric has done animated work for BlackVoices.com, Black Entertainment Television (BET) and Buzzflash.com. His illustrations and cartoons have appeared in the Chronicle, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Austin American-Statesman and other publications. He was a regular cartoon contributor to the Gary (Ind.) Post-Tribune from 1992-1997.
